Kathy M. Dugger, 64, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Kathy was born on July 14, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota to George and Julia Phillips Williams. She moved to Detroit Lakes as a young girl, where she grew up and received her education. She attended Washington Elementary School and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1963. On June 1, 1963 she was united in marriage to Weston Dugger in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Mountain Home, Idaho before returning to the Toad Lake area of rural Detroit Lakes in 1965. In 1967 they moved into Detroit Lakes. After raising her children, she enjoyed a variety of careers over the years. She worked for Evans/Holiday Village grocery as a deli cook. She later worked at the V.F.W. and the Elks in charitable gambling. She worked at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen as a cashier and most recently as a customer service manager for Wal Mart. Kathy also worked with the Becker County Sheriffs Department for nearly twenty-five years as an auxiliary officer. Her hobbies include hunting, especially Bear and annual Montana trips. Last season she took a Black Bear that was scored as the largest ever recorded in Becker County. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, her pets, feeding the birds, family reunions and being the favorite "Auntie. She was also an avid Minnesota Viking fan. Kathy is survived by her husband, Butch; two sons, Jeff (Mary) Dugger of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; Donnie Dugger of Rochert, Minnesota; one daughter, Diana (Mark Busker) Dugger of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; six grandchildren; close family friend, Wade Olds of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; one sister, Rose Steele of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; three brothers, Don Williams of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; Ralph (Sherlene) Williams of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; Jim Williams of New Town, North Dakota. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, George Williams Jr., two sisters, Eileen Talbot and Betty Jones, niece, Judy Peterson.
