Delores "Dee" June Leasure, 82, North Mankato, Minnesota, died peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2009 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living, North Mankato, Minnesota. Dee was born on October 19, 1927 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to Joseph and Pearl (Brown) Leitheiser. She attended country school in Lakeview Township and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1946. Dee was united in marriage to Donald Leasure on August 20, 1946 in Detroit Lakes. In 1955, they moved with their two young daughters to Luverne, Minnesota where Dee managed a Montgomery Ward Store. She was active in the Jaycees and her bridge club. Later they moved to St. Peter where she worked as an insurance and benefits manager for Kato Engineering Company. She retired in 1982. Dee and Don returned to the Detroit Lakes area after retiring and made their home on Big Cormorant Lake. They spent several years enjoying fishing, golf, snowmobiling and entertaining family at the lake. She was always thankful for the years they had together before Don passed away in 1996. Dee also enjoyed the times spent with her sister, Lucy, raking leaves in the fall and having long phone conversations. She moved back to the Mankato area in 2002, to be closer to her daughters. Dee lived the past few years at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato. Dee will be remembered for her kind and loving spirit, her sense of humor and her gentle manner. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Dee is survived by her two daughters, Sandra (Tim) Bloomquist of Cambridge, Minnesota; Sherri (Mike) Mayo of St. Peter, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Aaron (Kristina) Bloomquist, Ross (Lea) Bloomquist, Adam (Amy) Bloomquist, Laurie (Scott) Lindberg, Brian (Maegan) Mayo and Chris (Jessa) Mayo; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Olson of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Verna Leitheiser of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Duane Leasure of Minneapolis, Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews, many friends and the loving care givers at Oak Terrace. Dee was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, three brothers, Melvin, Dick and Donald, sisters-in-law Doris Olson, Donna Leasure and Jean Leasure, brother-in-law, Dick Olson.
