Joanne F. Jager age 77 of rural Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday February 27, 2010 at St. Marychr(39)s Innovis Health in Detroit Lakes. Joanne Ferne Jager was born on October 12, 1932 in Richey, Montana to Rudolph and Hilma Nelson Hanson. The family moved to rural Osage, MN when Joanne was two years old. She grew up and attended country school in rural Osage, and later attended high school in Frazee, MN. She worked at Blandings Department Store in Detroit Lakes. On June 26, 1960 she was united in marriage to David Jager at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Osage, MN. They made their home on the family farm, where they raised their family. Joanne was very active at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Ladies aid, Homemakers, and Quilters Bee. Her passion was being a good Christian woman, loving her family, sewing, knitting, baking, and gardening. She also loved time spent with her grandchildren. Joanne is survived by her husband, David; one son Mark (Pam) Jager, of Detroit Lakes, MN; three daughters, Debra (Dean) Grossman, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Krystal (Allen) Dahring, of Vergas, MN; Janelle Jager, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eight grandchildren; one brother, Maynard (Darlene) Hanson, of Callaway, MN; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one granddaughter, Veronica Jager.
