Paul C. Chapman

Paul C. "Curt" Chapman age 66 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday March 6, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes surrounded by family and friends, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Curt was born on June 17, 1943 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Malcolm and Olivia Caspers Chapman. He grew up and received his education in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1961. He attended Moorhead State University from 1963-1967. He joined the National Guard in 1967 and served for several years. He worked for the Department of Natural Resources from 1968-1971. He then worked as a salesman for the SC Johnson Co. and Stein Chemical from 1972-1988. He lived in Wilmar, MN, and Bismarck and Grand Forks, ND during those years. He moved back to Detroit Lakes, where he worked a few years for Becker County Engineering. He later worked at the Frazee Golf Course and most recently at the Detroit Country Club on the grounds crew. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He is survived by two brothers, Kenneth (Kathy) Chapman, of Rochert, MN; Mark Chapman, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one sister, Carol (Jon) Peterson, of Sarasota, FL; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
