Helen M. Fasteen age 85 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Thursday May 6, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Helen Mae Fasteen was born on February 13, 1925 in Dead Lake Township of Ottertail County, MN to George and Clara Hanebuth Wolff. She moved to Waubun, MN as a young girl, where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Waubun High School. She moved to Detroit Lakes, where she worked at Lambertchr(39)s Drug Store. On April 22, 1951 she was united in marriage to Ronald B. Fasteen in Waubun, MN. They made their home and raised their family in Detroit Lakes. Helen worked at Lincoln Elementary School as a food server for 18 years and she also served food for the Detroit Lakes High School Football Team during their summer practices. Helen was very active in the community. She was involved in Campfire, Boy Scouts, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Cancer Society Relay For Life to name a few. She was also active at First Lutheran Church, serving as a member of the Altar Guild and Circle. She also taught Sunday School and Bible School. Her family was also very important to her. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildrenchr(39)s sporting events and activities, rarely missing one. She also past on many values and life lessons to her children. Helen is survived by her husband, Ronald, three sons, Bruce Fasteen, of Fargo, ND; Terry (Kathryn) Fasteen, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Scott Fasteen, of Lincoln, ND; two daughters, Susan (Dean) Berg, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Renee Fasteen, of Fergus Falls, MN; six grandchildren; Neil Fasteen, Jeffrey Fasteen, Jennifer Frank, Kari Baer, Daniel Fasteen, and Dustin Barnes; one great grandson, Henry Fasteen, one brother, Russell (Joan) Wolff, of Morris, MN; two sisters, Evelyn (Richard) Kvamme, of Moorhead, MN; Beverly Beling, of New Brighton, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Viola Olson and one brother, Donald "Bud" Wolff.
