Alan B. Korth, 56, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Friday, July 23, 2010 under the care of the staff at Frazee Care Center and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Alan was born on November 1, 1953, the son of Melvin and Shirley (Pulvermacher) Korth in Minot, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Shortly after high school he moved to Frazee with his family and Alan enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge in 1975 and returned to Frazee. Alan attended Minnesota State Technical College, receiving an associates degree. Alan worked as a chef for Fairhills Resort and the Holiday Inn. He later worked for Swift Company, until retiring due to his health. Alan enjoyed camping, fishing and watching his beloved Green Bay Packers. Alan is survived by his mother, Shirley Korth of Frazee, MN; two brothers, Brian (Barbara Ann) Korth of Detroit Lakes, MN; Calvin (Bonnie) Korth of Frazee, MN; sister, Cheryl (Scott) Olson of Frazee, MN; three nieces, three nephews, five great nieces and nephews. Alan was preceded in death by his father, Melvin.
