Earl Hanks Kuhlemeyer, 90, Vergas, Minnesota, passed away on August 18, 2010 at the Perham Memorial Home, where he resided the last two weeks. Earl was born on January 13, 1920 to Emerson and Lurhea (Hanks) Kuhlemeyer in Candor Township, rural Vergas, Minnesota. He attended school at District 121, rural Vergas. Earl served in the United States Marine Corp from 1944-1946, with overseas duty in China during WWII. On February 27, 1949, Earl married Edith Gabrielson in Lake Park, Minnesota. He farmed, did road construction and trucking, which included being an independent trucker from 1977-1993. Earl served on the Candor Town Board, was a member of the Vergas United Methodist Church, and was a member of the VFW Post 7702 of Frazee. With the exception of his military time, Earl lived all his life in rural Vergas. Earl is survived by his wife, Edith of Vergas, two sons, Neil (Dolores) Kuhlemeyer of Vergas, MN; Arden (Deb) Kuhlemeyer of Pelican Rapids, MN; one daughter, Joyce (Steve) Wagner of Fargo, ND and daughter-in-law, Robin (Kevin Kosiak) Kuhlemeyer of Vergas, MN; eight grandchildren, Jennifer and Emery Kuhlemeyer, Clayton and Robert Kuhlemeyer, Jessica and Danielle Kuhlemeyer, Laura and Justin Wagner; two step-grandchildren, Amy and Brian Berseth; several nieces and nephews. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mildred and her husband, Lawrence Hendrickson of Audubon.
