Grace V. Mickelson

Grace V. Mickelson age 83 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Wednesday August 18, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Grace Virginia Mickelson was born on October 8, 1926 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Carl and Matilda Mathias Killingstad. Grew grew up and received her education in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1944. On May 7, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lyle Mickelson. Over the years they made their home in Detroit Lakes and Westbury, MN. Grace worked for Kadlatz Cleaners and Later Savoie Cleaners in Detroit Lakes for many years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, crossword puzzles, bingo and going to the casino. Grace is survived by three daughters, Jacquelyn (Kit) Nelson, of Vergas, MN; Teryl McDougall, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Jodi Mickelson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; four grandchildren, Kristoff (Kate) Nelson, Jessica (Wayne) Wegener, Jenna McDougall, and Brett McDougall; one great granddaughter, Isabelle Grace Wegener; three sisters, Florence Mercer, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Delores (Arlan) Haugrud, of Pelican Rapids, MN; and Doris Dittman, of Lansing, MI; one brother, Bill (Elsa) Killingstad, of San Antonio, TX; two sisters in law, Mildred Bremseth, of Lindstrom, MN; and Ethel Wacker, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyle (1993); four sisters, Clara Helmet, Inga Kramer, Julia Cooper, and Helen Olson; and three brothers, Carl, James, and Ole Killingstad.
