June C. Erickson, 86, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Sanford Health, Fargo, North Dakota. June was born on June 21, 1924 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter and only child of Alfred and Alys (Johnston) Eide. Later with her parents, she moved to the Midway District of St. Paul, where she continued her education and graduated from Wilson High School in 1942. June was employed by Brown & Bigelow in St Paul during WWII. Years, later she was employed by Montgomery Ward Catalog Department. June married Lloyd Erickson on August 1, 1947 in St. Paul. In April of 1963, with four children they moved to Mason City, Iowa because Lloyd was transferred by his employer C & NW Railroad. She was employed by the Mason City School District for 23 years. June retired when her husband, Lloyd retired in 1983. They moved to Detroit Lakes in April of 1986 to their home on Munson Lake, to be closer to family. June was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing and pheasant hunting in Iowa. June was always one of the first to volunteer her services to a cause she believed in. June is survived by her, four children: Lloyd Jr. (Nancy) Erickson, Carolyn Ochr(39)Connell, Denise (Curt) Brown, all of Detroit Lakes, MN; Debra (Kurt) Matson of Tecumseh, MI; five grandchildren: Michael (Trisha) Cole of Fargo, ND; Lisa (Ryan) Olson of Burnsville, MN; Jeff and Jeremy Matson of Kalamazoo, MI and Justin Matson of Tecumseh, MI; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Olson and Hendrix Cole. June was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lloyd Sr.
