Elsie A. Nelson

Elsie Aleda Nelson, 100, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Elsie was born in Nornnagen, Sweden. She came to America at the age of four, with her two year old sister, Ericka and her mother Hulda Moller. Elsiechr(39)s mother, Hulda married John Thunstrom. Elisa and her sister were raised as Thunstroms. Elsie was educated in District 57 and District 28. She was confirmed at Bakke Lutheran Church in 1927. She was united in marriage to Noah Nelson in July of 1934. Noah died in 1959. She worked at various laundries and was a house keeper in motels in the Detroit Lakes area. Elsie enjoyed dancing, bowling and going for a walk. No one was a stranger to Elsie, it was someone she just hasnchr(39)t met. Elsie is survived by her daughter, Phyllis (Norman) Wilson of Park Rapids, MN; son, Ricky(Valerie) Nelson of Detroit Lakes, MN; six grandchildren, Bruce(Tammy) Wilson, Pam Wilson, Dawn Carlson, Ed Nelson, Emily (Todd) Yliniemi and Bonnie (Ken) Garro, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild, sisters-in-law, Doris Thunstrom of Great Falls, MT; Angie Thunstrom of Seattle, WA; numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Noah, grandson, Jed Nelson, granddaughter, Roxanne Wilson, five brothers, Ernest Moller, Victor, Sam, Gus and Art Thunstrom.
