Nancy J. Jager age 67 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Wednesday Dec. 1, 2010 at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Nancy Jane Jager was born on May 19, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN to Gerald and Ethel Thorstad Gullickson. They moved to Detroit Lakes when Nancy was a young girl, where she grew up and received her education, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1961. On April 17, 1962 she married Gary W. Meyer in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Detroit Lakes and later divorced. On May 25, 1968 she married John J. Jager in Momence, Illinois. They moved to Detroit Lakes in 1970, where she lived and raised her family. Over the years she worked for various businesses in Detroit Lakes, including the Proctor Cafe, the Sandwitch Hut, and the Headstart and Childrens Initiative programs. She was also a Tupperware and Avon dealer, and served on the Frazee School Board. In 1998 she attended the Detroit Lakes Vocational and Technical College where she studied computer and office technology. She worked at the AmericInn in Detroit Lakes for several years before her health forced her to retire. Nancychr(39)s family was the most important part of her life. She especially enjoyed when the family got together for deer hunting. She also enjoyed crocheting, dancing, shopping, flower gardening, and traveling. She is survived by four sons, Garren Meyer, of Butte, MT; Kelly (Lorri) Jager, of Menahga, MN; Nathan Jager, of Bemidji, MN; and Jedediah (Vanessa) Jager, of Detroit Lakes, MN; three daughters, Kristine (Dan) Snyder, of Fort Wayne, IN; Melanee (Ike) Jahnke, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Heidi (Matt) Ball-Kilbourne, of Christine, ND; Fifteen Grandchildren, one Great Granddaughter, one brother, Roger (Jo) Gullickson, of Little Canada, MN; two sisters, Patsy Gilchrest, of Dilworth, MN; Mary Lemoine, of Brainerd, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a stillborn son.
