James W. Eberhardt, 52, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Tuesday, December 7, 2010 of unknown causes at his home. Jim was born on April 26, 1958, the son of William and Darlene (Kerling) Eberhardt in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes. After high school he attended University of Wisconsin "? Stevens Point and later transferred to Mankato State University. Jim returned to Detroit Lakes and turned his passion of Photography into a career. Jim married Lynn Farris and through this union they had two children, Nick and Dana. He eventually started Eberhardt Studio, which he owned and operated until recent years. Jim was active in AA and recently celebrated twenty-eight years of sobriety. He was a devoted Christian and lived his life for the Lord. Jim was united in marriage to Cindy Lou Wilson on September 17, 2005 in Nevis, Minnesota. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. Jim was an active member of the Christian Fellowship Church and led Thursday night bible study. He also volunteered at the Refuge and in his early years was active with the youth group at Community Alliance Church in Detroit Lakes. Jim will be remembered for being a loving father and husband, his woodworking ability to create beautiful furniture and his great sense of humor. Jim is survived by his wife, Cindy Lou Eberhardt of Detroit Lakes, MN; son, Nick (Jen) Eberhardt of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Dana Eberhardt of Detroit Lakes, MN; one step-son, Ron (Hannah) Wilson of Bemidji, MN; two grandchildren, Quincy and Samuel Wilson; his mother, Darlene Eberhardt of Detroit Lakes, MN; two brothers, Ron (Peggy) Johnson of Moorhead, MN; Jeff (Stevie) Johnson of Hendrum, MN: two sisters, Pam Marek of Horace, ND; Deb (Ed) Piekvtowski of Moorhead, MN; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Jim was preceded in death by his father, William Eberhardt.
