Marion E. Glawe

Marion E. Glawe age 95 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Thursday December 16, 2010 at St. Marychr(39)s "? Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN. Marion Edith Glawe was born on June 10, 1915 in Braintree, MA to John and Grace Boothby Sunbury. She grew up and received her education there, graduating from Braintree High School. On July 24, 1937 she was united in marriage to Martin H. Glawe in Wolaston, MA. They lived in Boston for nine years before moving to Detroit Lakes in 1946 where she worked for St. Marychr(39)s Hospital and Jeffchr(39)s Resort. In 1955 they moved back east to Bridgewater, MA where Marion worked in a shoe factory. She retired in 1971 and they moved back to Detroit Lakes. Marion then did volunteer work at the St. Marychr(39)s Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. She has been a resident at St. Marychr(39)s "? Oak Crossing since 2005. Marionchr(39)s family and her faith in Christ were very important to her. She enjoyed time spent with her family, as well as her volunteer work, baking, gardening, and farm life. She is survived by one son, Charles (Karen Ann) Glawe, of Detroit Lakes, MN; three daughters, Lois (Elwood) Orner, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Marjorie (Raymond) Carasetti, of Lakeville, MA; Marcia (Fred) Thompson, of Strasburg, VA; 12 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin H. Glawe (5/17/1998); one brother, Lawrence Sunbury; one sister, Eleanor Vella; and her parents.
