Mitchell E. Mickelson

Mitchell E. Mickelson age 64 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Tuesday January 25, 2011 at his residence. Mitchell Edward Mickelson was born on November 18, 1946 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Elsworth and Merriam Nordlund Mickelson. He grew up and received his education in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1965. He then served in the United States Army from 1965-1967 as a Military Policeman in Vietnam. On February 22, 1969 he was united in marriage to Jill Shoemaker. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. He worked for Moorhead Construction from 1967-2004. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by one son, Chad Mickelson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two daughters, Tracy Mickelson, of Washington, D.C.; Kelly (Brad) Morrison, of Andover, MN; two brothers, Michael (Kay) Mickelson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Lee Mickelson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one sister, Kandy (Jeff) Wheelden, of Vergas, MN; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
