Shirley M. Munson

Shirley M. Munson, 74, Moorhead, Minnesota, formerly of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, Minnesota. Shirley was born on March 17, 1936 the daughter of Theodore and Margaret (Craft) Glawe in Candor Township of Ottertail County. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Shirley was united in marriage to Dennis Munson in May of 1953 at Lake Eunice Parsonage in rural Detroit Lakes. Over the years, she lived in Detroit Lakes, Barnesville, Twin Valley, Glyndon and Moorhead. Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren. She made several trips to Oregon to visit family. During those times she also spent time at the beach and picking berries with her family. Shirley was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Shirley is survived by three daughters, Jeanette (Larry) Selseth of Hillsboro, OR; Deb (Gary) Bolgrean of Moorhead, MN; Cheryl (Terry) Schnepp of Cornelius, OR; six grandchildren, Cheri Chadwick, Justin Selseth, Andrea Selseth, Alissa Bolgrean, Kari Bolgrean and Trevis Munson; three great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Nicole Chadwick, Matthew Munson; numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Helen Stensgard and Darlene Prestegord.
