Barbara J. Glander, 63, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Essentia Health St. Marychr(39)s, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Barb was born on October 19, 1947, the daughter of Clinton and Lauretta (Profit) Bennor in Park Rapids, Minnesota. She was raised and educated in Akeley, Minnesota. Barb was united in marriage to Edwin Glander on June 12, 1967 in Menahga, Minnesota. They made their home in Park Rapids for a couple of years, before moving to Detroit Lakes. Barb stayed at home to raise their daughters. She later worked at the Lakes Crisis Center and the last eleven years at Lakeshirts until her health forced her to retire. Barb loved gardening and especially tending to her flower gardens. She also did quilting, sewing and embroidery. Barb was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and enjoyed fishing with her husband, Ed. Barb is survived by her husband, Ed Glander of Detroit Lakes, MN; two daughters, Darlene Smith of Detroit Lakes, MN; Amanda (Richard) Lindeman of Fergus Falls, MN; three grandchildren, Heather, Cody and Courtney; one brother, David Bennor of Park Rapids, MN; four sisters, Lela Glander of Park Rapids, MN; Doris Austad of Rice Lake, WI; Betty (Mike) Nethercutt of Backus, MN; Ellen (Dan) Worcester of Oak Grove City, MN; and uncle, Merle Profit of Park Rapids, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Robert Smith.
