Eileen M. Sagmo

Eileen M. "Ma" Sagmo age 82 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Thursday April 7, 2011 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Eileen Marie Sagmo was born on February 26, 1929 in Dent, MN to Herman and Martha Stender Harthun. She grew up and attended country school in rural Dent, MN. She moved to Detroit Lakes in 1946, where she worked as a waitress. On May 6, 1948 she was united in marriage to Chester Sagmo in Detroit Lakes. They farmed in the Cotton Lake area in rural Detroit Lakes. Over the years Eileen worked as a cook at the American Legion, VFW, Elks, and Eagles Club. Eileen loved spending time with her family and was a very proud Mother. Her hobbies included Bingo, Gardening, Fishing, Dancing, and Cooking. Eileen is survived by her husband, Chester, one son, Ronald (Tammy) Sagmo, of Frazee, MN; three daughters, Bonnie (Darcy) Bellefeuille, of Vergas, MN; DeAnn McWethy, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Kandy (Brad) Peterson, of Dent, MN; twelve Grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Marion Umlauf-Zimmerman, of Fergus Falls, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Kathie Sagmo; one granddaughter Kathie Nelson; and eleven brothers and sisters.
