June L. Sloan, 79, Osage, Minnesota, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. June was born on August 2, 1931 the daughter of George and Gladys (Steele) Borst in Park Rapids, Minnesota. She was raised and educated in Park Rapids. June was united in marriage to Leo Sloan on January 21, 1950 in Park Rapids. They made their home in Osage, Minnesota where she lived until 2006, when she moved to Emmanuel Nursing Home. June was known for her artistic talent, whether it was dappling with oil painting or working with ceramics. She enjoyed her Avon products and Weight Watchers, especially for the weigh in, so she and her sister could celebrate with a Dairy Queen treat afterwards. June also enjoyed spending time with her family and her poodles that she raised over the years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. June is survived by her husband, Leo Sloan of Osage, MN; daughter, Pam (Ed) Ranua of Detroit Lakes, MN, son, Gary Sloan of Moorhead, MN; three grandchildren, Nicole (Jason) Gervais, Dawn (Steve) Thompson and Jeffrey (Andi) Ranua; six great-grandchildren, Chloe and Elizabeth Thompson, Dylan, Cade and Levi Ranua and Cash Gervais; several nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Elizabeth Buckingham and brother, Donald Borst.
