Harry W. Kruger age 98 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Thursday April 21, 2011 at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. Harry William Kruger was born on March 13, 1913 in Sherwood, North Dakota to John and Augusta Janzig Kruger. The family moved to Bemidji, Minnesota when Harry was a young boy. He grew up and attended school in Bemidji and Roy Lake, Minnesota. He later moved to Fosston, Minnesota. On November 12, 1936 he was united in marriage to Mavadel Handyside in Fosston, Minnesota. They made their home in rural Fosston until 1958 when they moved to a farm south of Audubon, Minnesota. They farmed there until retiring in the early 1980chr(39)s. Harry has been a resident at Emmanuel Nursing Home since 2008. Harry liked carpentry, woodworking, and picking blueberries. He especially enjoyed making Diamond Willow Lamps for family members. Harry is survived by four sons, Kermit Kruger, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Kenneth (Sharon) Kruger, of Phoenix, AZ; Dale (Joleen) Kruger, of Osage, MN; Everett (Jeanne) Kruger, of Audubon, MN; seventeen grandchildren; forty three great grandchildren; fourteen great great grandchildren; one brother, Herbert Krueger, of Twin Valley, MN; and one sister, Edna Benson, of Detroit Lakes, MN. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Mavadel (3/5/11); two grandsons, Paul Kruger and Curtis Kruger; one great grandson, Skyler Preston; parents; three brothers, Walter, Art, and Arnold Krueger; three sisters, Dorothy Onasch, Florence Sleeth, and Hilda Bjorgan; and daughter in law, JoAnn Kruger.
