Theresa M. Bergh

Theresa M. Bergh age 90 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday April 30, 2011 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.   Theresa Marie Bergh was born on January 18, 1921 in rural Detroit Lakes to Knute and Matilda Opdahl Dovre. She grew up on the family farm on Little Floyd Lake and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School. She then attended Moorhead State Teachers College for two years and received her teaching certificate. On August 24, 1944 she was united in marriage to Melvin Bergh in Detroit Lakes. She later attended the University of Minnesota where she received her teaching degree. Over the years Theresa taught elementary school in Winger, MN and later in Long Prairie, MN for twenty years. After retiring they moved to Detroit Lakes in 1980.   Theresa enjoyed traveling in their motor home, polkas, dancing, playing cards, bowling, visiting the family farm and spending time with her granddaughter.   She is survived by one son, John (Geri) Bergh, of Jacksonville, Florida; one granddaughter, Katherine Crowley, of Duluth, MN; and nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin (2010); one daughter Judy Bergh (2011); her parents; and three brothers, Erling, Conrad, and Clifford Dovre.
