Nicholas R. Selck

Nicholas R. Selck, 19, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Essentia Health, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Nicholas was born on August 2, 1991 the son of Michael and Tracy (Witt) Selck in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 2010. Nicholas began working at TJ's Tile in 2006 and continued working there until the time of his death. Nicholas had a smile that you would never forget. He knew the importance of family and would do the little things to show them how he felt. Nicholas enjoyed hunting and fishing, which started when he was only two weeks old, he took his first fishing trip to Leech Lake and never missed an opportunity to fish with his family. He also enjoyed time spent with his friends. Nicholas is survived by his parents, Michael and Tracy Selck; one sister, Samantha Selck; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Sonja Selck all of Detroit Lakes, MN; aunt, Marsha Schmidt of Apple Valley, MN; uncles, Mike Witt of Detroit Lakes, MN; Scott Witt of Audubon, MN; girl friend, Chelsy McDougall of Detroit Lakes, MN; cousins, Kristina (Julio) Pitre, Jason Schmidt, Michael (Shannon) Witt, Heather Selck, Sean Morrissey and his many friends. Nicholas was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray and Jackie Witt and uncle, Randy Selck.
