Jean C. Sharp age 66 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday June 25, 2011 at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota. Jean Sharp was born on August 3, 1944 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Ernest and Adelia Bartel Panter. The family moved to the Grand Rapids, MN area when Jean was a young girl. They moved back to Detroit Lakes where Jean completed her education, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School. On June 25, 1965 she was united in marriage to Loren Sharp in Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home and raised three children in Detroit Lakes. Jean later married O. Frank Brolin. Over the years Jean worked as a Chaplain at St. Marychr(39)s Hospital and Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, as well as a census taker and a substitute teacher and tutor at Christian Fellowship School. She was also an active writer of poetry and received the Golden Poet award two consecutive years. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, and eating at McDonalds in her later years with her special friend John. Jean is survived by one son, Justin (Jackie) Sharp, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two daughters, Heidi (Scott Peterson) Geyer, of Vergas, MN; Holly Sharp, of Santa Monica, CA; eight grandchildren, Jarrod, Jeremy, Kasi, and Blake Geyer, Amara Peterson, Aiden, Henry, and Jamie Sharp; and special friend John Kreps, of Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Loren G. Sharp (6/9/08); second husband, O. Frank Brolin (9/1/09); parents, and an infant son Blake.
