Lloyd F. Schoenberger age 87 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday July 2, 2011 at his residence. Lloyd Schoenberger was born on May 31, 1924 in rural Detroit Lakes, MN to Otto and Emma Dahring Schoenberger. He grew up there and helped with the operation of the family owned dance hall and roller skating rink. He attended school in Frazee, MN, graduating from Frazee High School. He then drove truck for the milk plant in Detroit Lakes. He was married to Mary Randall on October 10, 1946. They moved to Riverdale, ND, where he worked as a foreman on the construction of the Garrison Dam. On December 27, 1969 he married Clara Olding. They lived in Billings, Montana and Buena Park, California before moving back to Detroit Lakes. Over the years he drove truck for Consolidated Freightways, Burlington Northern Freight, and Kost Cement of Fargo, ND. Lloyd enjoyed snowmobiling and loved time spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Clara; two sons, Jon (Lana) Schoenberger, of Buena Park, CA; Jodean (Shari) Schoenberger, of Frazee, MN; one daughter, Krista (Don) Wilke, of Bedford, TX; two stepdaughters, Gloria (John) Hunsaker, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Sandee (Larry) Listul, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one step son, Bruce (Judy) Olding, of Newell, SD; ten grandchildren;17 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and one sister, Arlene (Hank) Schreiner, of Frazee, MN. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife Mary; two sisters, Gladys Blauert and Lorraine Sperling; and one grandson Joshua.
