Barry E. Ellegaard

Barry E. Ellegaard age 47 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Sunday July 3, 2011 following a boating accident on Long Lake near Detroit Lakes. Barry E. Ellegaard was born on April 14, 1964 in Crookston, MN to Walter and Carol (McArthur) Ellegaard. He grew up and attended school in Fertile, MN, graduating from Fertile-Beltrami High School in 1982. He excelled in many athletic activities in High School. On January 21, 2006 he was united in marriage to Mary Beth Pavek. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. Barry had a love for life and helping others. He loved spending time with friends, his dogs, and his Grandchildren. Barry will live on in the hearts of others forever. He is survived by his wife Mary Beth; one daughter, Hannah Ellegaard, of Fargo, ND; one step daughter, Courtney Spry, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two grandchildren, Ava and Landen; three brothers, Grant Ellegaard, of Fertile, MN; Eric (Joan) Ellegaard, of Fertile, MN; Mark Ellegaard, of Fertile, MN; one sister, Shelly (Mark) Broden, of Fertile, MN; Father and Mother-in-law, Ed and Dory Pavek, of Fertile, MN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Bruce Ellegaard.
