Doris A. Holt, 76, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Sunday, July 10, 2011 at St. Marychr(39)s Essentia Health, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Doris was born on May 14, 1935, the daughter of Edgar and Bernice (Petersen) Evert in Norcross, Minnesota. She attended school in Campbell, until moving to Frazee, Minnesota in 1951. Doris graduated from Frazee High School in 1953. As a young woman, she moved to Minneapolis and worked at North American Life Insurance Company. Doris was united in marriage to Kenneth Holt on September 7, 1957 at Lake of the Isle Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They made their home in Blaine, Minnesota, until 1974 when they moved to Detroit Lakes. In Detroit Lakes, Doris worked at Multi Company Nursing Services and Walmart. Doris enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, cooking and baking. The times most important to Doris were those shared with her family and grandchildren. Doris is survived by her husband, Kenneth Holt of Detroit Lakes, MN; four daughters, Lorelei Holt of Dilworth, MN; Sherry (Dan) Pederson of Fargo ND; Carmen (Perry) Nodsle of Detroit Lakes, MN; Candace (Lance) Kaiser of Otsego, MN; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ashley and Christian Breitzman, Stuart Pederson, Morgan and Calvin Nodsle, Elle and August Kaiser; one sister, Shirley (Raymond) Ellingson of Doran, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Dawn Holt and one sister, Darlene Albro.
