Jerrald D. Schurdevin

Jerrald D. Schurdevin, 72, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Jerry was born on August 12, 1939, the son of Cecil and Ellene (Liljequist) Schurdevin in Shell Lake Township of rural Becker County, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Bagley, Minnesota. Jerry enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Jerry was married to Fern Matson on September 25, 1971 in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in rural Frazee, Minnesota. He worked various jobs throughout his life, which included Tuffychr(39)s, Mid-America, Pella Windows and Hough Inc. Jerry enjoyed woodworking, gardening his odd looking vegetables and also enjoyed just being outdoors. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor by his family and friends. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Ann (David) Oien of Detroit Lakes, MN; two grandchildren, Dillon and Megan Oien; one sister, Deloris Buck of Detroit Lakes, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, son, Billy Schurdevin, sister, Doris Conklin, niece, Carol Holt and nephew, Brad Buck.
