Norbert H. Eidenschink, 82, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at his home. Norbert was born on January 9, 1929, the son of George and Catherine (Stein) Eidenschink in the Erie Township of Becker County. He attended country school in District 26. Norbert served in the United States Marine Corps and later returned to Detroit Lakes where he worked with cattle and helped on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Anita Grossman on June 30, 1987 at First Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. Norbert was a custodian at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and school for twenty-six years. He also drove school bus for over forty years. Norbert was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and was also a member of the Ultra Snowmobile Club. He loved gardening and sharing the produce with his family and friends. Norbert also enjoyed deer hunting, snowmobiling, playing softball and camping. He will be missed and always remembered by his family. Norbert is survived by his wife, Anita Eidenschink of Detroit Lakes, MN; two sons, Clifford Eidenschink of Austin, TX; Kelly (Sherrie) Eidenschink of Lexington, TX; one daughter, Kris Alderman of Grand Prairie, TX; three step-sons, Dean (Debbie) Grossman of Detroit Lakes, MN; Blair (Diane) Grossman of Cornell, WI; Marlow Grossman of Detroit Lakes, MN; nineteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marcella Eberhardt and Clara Schoenberger both of Detroit Lakes, MN; numerous nieces and nephews and his dog, Dante. Norbert was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Clarence, Edward, Sallie, Leander and Lawrence, two sisters, Isabelle Edstrom and Leona Muldaney.
