Virginia F. Wold

Virginia Faye Wold age 78 of Detroit Lakes, MN passed away peacefully at Essentia Health Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes on Friday, January 6, 2012. "Ginny" was born in Detroit Lakes, MN on October 21, 1933 to Winfield and Clara Lind Murray. She was one of twelve children. She grew up in Detroit Lakes and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School. In 1952 she married Sanford Wold and they made their home in Seattle, WA. She later moved to Plaza, ND where she enjoyed years spent with family and friends. She then attended Minot State College where she earned a Law Enforcement Degree. She then worked as a Deputy Sheriff with Ward County, ND. She later moved to Fargo, ND where she worked for American Family Insurance. In 1995 she retired to her hometown to be with her loving brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. She is survived by her beloved children; Connie (Jerry) Maas, of Prior Lake, MN and Ken Wold, of Minot, ND; loving grandchildren, Shane Martin, Tessa Klett, Jarrett, Brett, Devon, and Sierra Wold, Lori Fossa (Maas), eleven very precious great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth (Arlene) Murray, of Moorhead, MN; and three sisters, Annabelle (Bill) Froysland, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Alice Greminger, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Donna Johnson, of Detroit Lakes, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Ethel Murray, Ione Olmstead and Betty McDonald; and four brothers, Donald Olson, Wallace Murray, Timothy Murray, and Albert Murray.
