Lorraine Johnson, 93, of rural Audubon, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society in Park River, North Dakota. Lorraine Christine Swanson was born on August 1, 1918, the only child of Ole C. and Georgia (Romberg) Swanson in Audubon, Minnesota. She graduated from Audubon High School in 1935. She attended Moorhead State Teacherschr(39) College for three years and earned her teaching certificate there. She taught at schools in Lancaster and Rural Audubon, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Dennis Johnson on October 3, 1950. Lorraine and Dennis spent their years farming and raising their family, enjoying the blessings of home and hearth, as well as neighbors in church and community. Dennis passed away July 2, 2010. Surviving Lorraine are two daughters, Sheryl (Orville) Kjelland of Park River and Rebecca (Wes) Aardahl of Bismarck, ND; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ellen Johnson of Spring Valley, MN, and Evelyn (Chester Anderson) Johnson of Detroit Lakes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, brothers-in-law Donald Johnson, Lowell Johnson, Gene Squires, Virgil Thorson, Bill Jorgensen, and sisters-in-law Darlene Squires, Audrey Thorson, and Loretta Jorgensen.
