Grant W. Lage age 79 of Audubon, MN died Saturday Feb. 11, 2012 at Essentia Health St. Marychr(39)s Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. Grant Walter Lage was born on December 7, 1932 in Everly, Iowa to Walter and DeEldra Grant Lage. He attended school in Moneta, Iowa, graduating from Moneta High School in 1950. He then attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. On April 4, 1954 he was united in marriage to Lillian Ebel in Germantown, Iowa. They made their home in Spencer, Iowa where Grant worked as a carpenter. In 1957 they moved to rural Audubon, MN. Grant worked various jobs until purchasing a dairy farm in 1963. He retired from farming in 1997. Grant loved woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. He also liked to hunt and fish. He was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He also served on the Audubon School Board for many years and also as a director for AMPI for 26 years. He is survived by his wife, Lillian; two sons, Mike (Linda) Lage, of Audubon, MN and Pat (Melissa) Lage, of Audubon, MN; one daughter, Lisa (Steve) Hanson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Ann (Mack) Stanhope, of Marcus, WA; and DeeAnn Levine, of Detroit, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; son in law, Mike Halbur; and brother in law, Stephen Levine.
