Betty A. Kahle

Betty Ann Kahle age 83 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday February 11, 2012 at Golden Manor Memory Care in Detroit Lakes. Betty Ann Kahle was born on April 5, 1928 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Oscar and Mabel Eilertson Lien. She grew up and received her education in Detroit Lakes. On February 9, 1952 she was united in marriage to LeRoy Kahle at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Detroit Lakes, where together they owned and operated Kahlechr(39)s Plumbing. Betty did the bookkeeping and helped LeRoy in all phases of the work. Betty was active in First Lutheran Womenchr(39)s activities, including library, circles, coordinating council, action corp. and quilting. She enjoyed gardening, canning and raising and selling raspberries. She was also active in homemakers and 4-H when her children were younger. Betty is survived by one son, David Kahle, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one daughter, Julie (Lance) Dorff, of Detroit Lakes, MN; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two sisters, Helen Young, of Arizona, and Avis West, of Detroit Lakes, MN. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; one son, Steve; her parents and an infant sister, Stella.
