Lyle S. Burt

Lyle Shawn Burt, 51, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Friday, March 23, 2012 at a Milwaukee, Wisconsin Aurora St. Lukechr(39)s Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Shawn was born on September 22, 1960 the son of Robert and Vivian (Dodds) Burt in Denver, Colorado. He was raised in Texas and Detroit Lakes. Shawn served in the United States Marine Corps. He was known for his excellent carpentry skills and his sense of humor. Shawn enjoyed the outdoors, camping with his family, traveling in his RV, surf fishing, cooking and spending time with his grandson. He will be greatly missed by his family. Shawn is survived by his wife, Mary Burt of Detroit Lakes, MN; two daughters, Amber Burt and Melissa Burt both of Detroit Lakes, MN; son, Christopher Burt of Detroit Lakes, MN; one grandson, Houston Burt; his mother, Vivian Hays and step-father, Charles Hays Sr both of Detroit Lakes, MN and step-mother, Loel Burt of Corpus Christi, TX; three sisters, Lori Gress of Detroit Lakes, MN; Tresa (Shawn) Ohman of Frazee, MN; Jeanne (Keith) Ayotte of Suffolk, VA; two brothers, William (Debbie) Dillon of Detroit Lakes, MN; Jeffrey (Lia) Hays Smyran, GA; numerous nieces and nephews. Shawn was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Robert Burt Jr. and Charles Hays Jr.
