William F.K."Bill" Haspel, 86, of Audubon, Minnesota, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at his home. Bill was born on January 28, 1926 in Camrose, Alberta, Canada.He was born the son of William A. and Phyllis (Harding) Haspel. His family had left Detroit Lakes to homestead in Canada about 1900, and at the age of thirteen, Bill and his family returned to the Detroit Lakes area. Bill was educated at District 57 in rural Rochert. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Totland on November 8, 1950 in Detroit in Lakes.They owned a dairy farm that included specialty crops; they were especially known for the raspberries.Bill also drove school bus 13 for Olander Bus Service Inc. for forty-one years, until retiring in 1999. Dorothy passed away in 1995. Bill married Bette Coles on June 27, 1998, and she passed away in 2006. Bill was a member of Bakke Lutheran Church.He enjoyed the annual gathering for the family deer hunt at the home farm.Bill also enjoyed family fishing outings and loved to participate in his sonschr(39) farming activities.Bill loved to be around people and was well known for being a champion visitor.He had a great sense of humor, and his teasing will be missed by his grandkids and great grandkids. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, by his wives, Dorothy and Bette, one son, William M. "Bill" Haspel, two grandsons, Matthew Olson and Adam Pihlaja, one daughter-in-law, Candise Haspel and one son-in-law, Kenneth Bergerson Jr., grandson in-law, William "Bill" Sheffield; two sisters, Eleanor Rosland and Rose Zeller.
