Arthur M. Mjor, 90 of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Oak Crossing, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. His parents were Gustav & Lena (Vick) Mjor. Art was raised on the family farm N.E. of Hitterdal, Minnesota. He graduated from Hitterdal High School in 1942. Art and his brother, Harry purchased the family farm which they operated together for many years. After they sold the farm Art continued farming, working for Jerry Trom. He was united in marriage to Ferne Pender on April 18, 1987 at First Lutheran Church, making their home in Audubon, Minnesota. Retiring in 2003. Art and Ferne moved to Detroit Lakes in 2006. Art enjoyed family gatherings, outside Christmas decorating, woodworking, puzzles, fishing, yard work, farming and driving big tractors. Art is survived by his wife, Ferne Mjor of Detroit Lakes, MN; step-children, Steven (Diane) Lamon of Central City, NE; Kathleen (Darrel) Leno of Sheridan, WY; four step-grandchildren, eight step great-grandchildren; one brother, Floyd Mjor of Detroit Lakes, MN; two sister-in-laws, Adeline Mjor of West Fargo, ND; Aldora "Fern" Mjor of Bend, OR; special friends, Jim (Audrey) Savig of Audubon, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Art was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Almer, Henry, Harry, Melvin, Elmer & Dennis. Five sisters, Eva Winstryg, Mable,Manda, Ella Kremetson, and Mable Peterson.
