Beatrice M. Tessman age 92 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Sunday June 10, 2012 at her residence. Beatrice May Tessman was born on May 15, 1920 in Erie, North Dakota to Henry and Lena Bratten Mitchell. The family moved to Detroit Lakes, MN when Beatrice was a young girl. She grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1938. She moved to California during WWII, where she worked for North American Aircraft. In 1945 she was united in marriage to Russell Tessman in Detroit Lakes. They farmed in rural Detroit Lakes for several years. Beatrice later attended the Detroit Lakes Business College. Bea and Russell started selling real estate in 1964, working for Strout Realty in Detroit Lakes. They later owned and operated Detroit Lakes Realty for the next twenty years. Bea enjoyed bingo and singing Karaoke at the Holiday Inn. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary. She also taught Bible School at First Baptist Church in Detroit Lakes and St. Peterchr(39)s Lutheran Church in rural Audubon. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Beachr(39)s nurse of twenty years, Virginia Thon. Bea is survived by one daughter, Rosella "Tess" Stearns, of Alexandria, MN; one son, Russell Tessman, of Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Anastajah and Andrea Stearns, Jill, Ben, Joey, and Jonathan Tessman, and Krista Dolash; one great granddaughter, Campbell Dolash; and several nieces and nephews. Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Russell (1997), and three brothers, Lester, Merle, and Gordon Mitchell.
