Marvel L. Nelson, age 70, of Lexington, Texas, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at St. Josephchr(39)s Regional Health Center, Bryan, Texas. Marvel LaVerne Nelson was born February 8, 1942, at St. Marychr(39)s Hospital, Detroit Lakes, MN, the daughter of Manley and Lorena (Williams) Nelson of Scambler Township, Pelican Rapids, MN. She was baptized by Rev. M. S. Gjerde at his home, rural Pelican Rapids; sponsors were her Uncle Willie and Aunt Viola Heimark. She grew up in Scambler Township, rural Pelican Rapids, was confirmed by Rev. Norman Estrem at Grove Lake Lutheran Church and was a Class of chr(39)59 graduate of Pelican Rapids High School. She moved to Detroit Lakes where she was employed at Swiftchr(39)s and later at the Emmanuel Nursing Home. She met and married Marvin L. Nelson, son of Ted and Anna Nelson, Frazee, on September 22, 1963, at Grove Lake Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids. They had two sons, Loren Keith and Mark Alan Nelson. They later divorced. She met and married Daniel W. Nelson, son of Don and Beverly Nelson, Frazee, on August 8, 1989, at Sisseton, S.D. They moved to the Lexington, Texas area in 1990, where she still resided. She traveled with her husband for Chicago Bridge and Iron building chemical tanks, spheres, towers and water towers. They later bought a small farm outside of Lexington. She was employed at the Tiny Dreamers Learning Center, Giddings, Texas, from where she retired. She is survived by her sons Loren (Lori) of Duluth, MN and Mark (fiancee Kim Hoskins) of Perham, MN; one granddaughter, two grandsons, two step-grandsons, five step-great grandchildren, sister, Fern Brown of Frazee, MN, several nieces and nephews, many cousins, and her great Texas family. Preceding her in death were her former husbands, her parents, grandparents, brother Harvey Nelson, brother-in-law Gust Brown, aunts, uncles and cousins.
