Lorenzo O. Mott, 90, Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Spring Valley Hospital, Las Vegas, Nevada. Lorenzo was born on October 2, 1921 the son of Orren and Emma (Feldt) Mott in rural Callaway, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1942. Lorenzo started to work as a bookkeeper for Graystone Motors in 1944. He continued to work at the Ford dealership under various owners until 1977. Lorenzo continue to do bookkeeping for various businesses until retiring in 1999. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to live with his brother Leo, who passed away last year. Hunting and Fishing were a very important part of his life. He made trips to Canada to fish and hunt moose. When he could no longer do that he watched the fishing and hunting shows on television and dreamed. He was a fifty year member of the Masonic Lodge in Detroit Lakes and was a member of the First Baptist Church. The children of the parish knew him as the "Candy Man." Lorenzo is survived by three sisters, Delma Moltzan of Detroit Lakes, MN; Florence Braaten of Brainerd, MN; and Lorraine Murray of Green Bay, WI; numerous nieces and nephews. Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Leo Mott, Galen Mott and Benjamin Mott, two sisters-in-law, Viola Mott and Francis Kirpatrick, nephew, Stanley Mott.
