Yvonne I. Johnson

Yvonne I. Johnson age 82 of Detroit Lakes, MN died September 17, 2012 at her residence under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Yvonne Ione Johnson was born on July 20, 1930 in Walworth Township, MN to Albert and Ella Malvick Sanden. As a young girl they moved to a farm in rural Detroit Lakes, MN. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1948. She then worked as a secretary for Winston Larson & Associates in Detroit Lakes. On May 21, 1955 she was united in marriage to Roger Johnson in Detroit Lakes. Over the years she worked as a legal secretary for the Schroeder Law Office, and later for Jack Pearson in the Becker County Attorneychr(39)s Office. She also worked for the Becker County Environmental Office for eight years before her retirement. Vonnie was a Stanley Home Products dealer for many years. She enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, flower gardening and bowling. She also loved attending her grandchildrenchr(39)s many activities and sporting events. She is survived by one daughter, Laurie (Terry) Bowers, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two sons, Michael (Darcy) Johnson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Mark (Phyllis) Johnson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, DeeDee Kindy, of Minnetonka, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger (2000); and her parents.
