Patricia "Patti" L. Lee, 78, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Patricia Lou Groves was born on May 25, 1934, the daughter of John Groves and Vivian Thomas in Moline, Illinois. She was raised by her mother, Vivian and step father, Emil Timm in Moline. Patti was united in marriage to James Lee on June 23, 1951 in Moline. They moved to Berlin, New Hampshire; Faribault, Minnesota and Mt. Iron, Minnesota before settling in Detroit Lakes in 1963. Patti started an upholstery business in her home in 1970 and continued to operate her business until retiring in 2002. Patti and James did everything together. They made beautiful jewelry and Patti also help James with his woodworking business to sell their works of art, at craft shows they would attend. Patti and James also enjoyed camping, fishing and harvesting wild rice together. During the past year, Patti enjoyed her time at Emmanuel Nursing Home, making friends with the staff and residents, also participating in the many activities they offered. Patti is survived by her three daughters, Shelley Engberg of West Fargo, ND; Diane Lee of Cavalier, ND; Brenda (Richard) Olson of Detroit Lakes, MN; six grandchildren, Ryan Engberg, Tracie Delaney, Amie Olson, Adam (Sarah Helgers), Eric (Dominique) Olson, Kaylie (Jamie Rowan) )Olson; eleven great grandchildren, Athena, Shanhan, Cheyenne, Austin, Alex, Paige, Jordan, Jacob, Brittney, Aubrey and Riley; one brother, James (Donna) Grove of Beaverton, OR; numerous nieces and nephews. Patti was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James (2003),infant son, Danny Lee, one brother, Gary Groves, two sisters, Beverley Bowman and Sally Cross.
