Jerold L. Zick

Jerold L. Zick, 62, of rural Osage, Minnesota, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at St. Marychr(39)s "? Essentia Health, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Jerry was born on February 19, 1950, the son of John and Helen (Luckason) Zick in Detroit Lakes. He graduated from Frazee High School in 1968. Jerry enlisted in the United States Army on January 21, 1969 and received an honorable discharge on January 20, 1971. He was united in marriage to Susan Pihlaja on March 23, 1974 in Osage. They made their home in rural Osage. Jerry farmed for most of his life. He never considered farming a job, because he truly loved to farm the land. Jerry was a member of the Shell Lake Township Board for more than twenty years, was a member of a local snowmobile club, member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and also served on church council. Jerry enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Jerry is survived by his wife Sue Zick of Osage, MN; daughter, Gail (George Felix) Clendening of Wichita, KS; son, Tim (fiance, Desirae Belden) Zick of Portland, OR; granddaughter, Ally; brother, Keith (Roxanne) Zick of Osage, MN; father-in-law, Clarence Pihlaja of Osage, MN; brother-in-law, Dan (Murlene) Pihlaja of Osage, MN; two sisters-in-law, Carol (Dan) Olson of Fargo, ND; Patti (Steve) Terry of Santee, CA; numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Carly Zick and mother-in-law, Donna Pihlaja.
