Adelbert Hanson

Adelbert L. Hanson age 86 of Detroit Lakes, MN died October 14, 2012 at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Adelbert Laverne Hanson was born on October 1, 1926 in Fargo, ND to Lloyd and Alice Hanson. He grew up and attended school in Fargo, graduating from Fargo Central High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 during WWII. Following his discharge from the Navy he returned to Fargo and attended NDSU, where he earned a B.S. degree in Botany. On August 23, 1948 he was united in marriage to Mary A. Hovland in Northwood, ND. They made their home in Fargo, ND. Del worked for the Fargo Health Department as a Dairy Inspector, and later as a Sales Manager for Foremost, Cass-Clay, and Fairmont Creameries. In his retirement he worked as a Realtor in Fargo and Detroit Lakes. Del enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being at the lake. He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Claudia (David) Welte, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two sons, Craig (Robin) Hanson, of Moorhead, MN; and Chad (Julia) Hanson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; three grandchildren, Brandon Welte, of Minneapolis, MN; Kelli Hanson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Chad "C.J." Hanson, of Moorhead, MN; one sister, LouEtta Anderson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one brother, Dennis Hanson, of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
