Janet R. Maier

Janet Maier, 75, passed away January 5, 2013, in Detroit Lakes, MN after a brief illness. Janet Rose Aberle was born June 2, 1937 and raised in Zeeland, ND. She married Clarence "Al" Maier in 1956. The family lived in Montana and North Dakota. She moved to Detroit Lakes in 2008 from Bismarck, ND. Janet was an active member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center. She enjoyed vacationing in the Colorado mountains, spending time with her family and grandkids, and loved the winter snow. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed by her children: Jim (Colleen); Bismarck, ND; Cynthia (Bill); Denver, CO and Terry (Michelle); Detroit Lakes, MN; and her beloved grandchildren: Cole and Sammy. She is also survived by her sister; Lee Wald of Lakefield, MN; two brothers: Bill (Rita) Aberle of Strasburg, ND and Francis (Alice) Aberle of Tulsa, OK; and several nieces and nephews. Janet was greeted in heaven by her husband whom she missed dearly for 25 years.
