Mary A. Dalman

Mary A. Dalman, 66, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on January 22, 2013 at Oak Crossing, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Mary was born on November 4, 1946, the daughter of Alfred and Edna (Gilbertson) Johnson in Lake Park, Minnesota. She was raised in the Lake Park, Westbury and Ogema area. Mary was united in marriage to Larry Duel on December 14, 1963 at First Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. They made their home in Frazee. Larry passed away on October 22, 1998. Mary began to work at County Market and later Central Market for the last twenty-two years. Mary married Dale Dalman on July 18, 2000. They made their home in Pelican Rapids. Dale passed away on November 18, 2003. She retired from Central Market in December of 2012 due to her health. Mary enjoyed crocheting, sewing, crafts and working in her yard. She had a special talent for making a good bonfire, especially with a little gas. Mary's family always came first and treasured those times spent with her family. Mary is survived by her daughter, Shelley (Dave Haman) Duel of New York Mills, MN; son, Monte Duel of Detroit Lakes, MN; nine grandchildren, Shenoa Jackson, Shyenne Campbell, Tony (Daisy) Duel, Shyla Haman, Quinton Duel, Natasha Duel, JohnMichael Duel, Brandon Duel and Heath Duel; ten great-grandchildren; her father, Alfred T. Johnson, of Callaway, MN; three brothers, Alfred W. "Butch" (Shirley) Johnson, of Callaway, MN; Richard (Nancy) Johnson, of Mulvane, Kansas; Roger (Sue) Johnson, of Richwood, MN; five sisters, Arlette (Richard) Westlund, of Lake Park, MN; Carol Johnson, of Montevideo, MN; Darlene (Jim) DeGroat, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Audrey Johnson, of Detroit Lakes, MN and Tammy (Chuck) Dilks, of Callaway, MN; mother-in-law, Dorothy Duel of Detroit Lakes, MN; two brothers-in-law, Kenny Duel of Detroit Lakes, MN; Donny (Virginia) Duel of St. Cloud, MN; three sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Stan) Pazdernik of Mahnomen, MN; Gloria (Phil) Tasto and Linda (Neil) Lind both of Detroit Lakes, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Johnson, husbands, Larry Duel, Dale Dalman, sister, Barbara McDonough, niece, Denise DeGroat and father-in-law, Henry Duel.
