Alice G. Rislund age 102 of Detroit Lakes, MN died February 9, 2013 at Essentia Health Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN. Alice Gerda Rislund was born on February 7, 1911 in Lake Eunice Township to Anton and Olivia Arneson Pederson. She received her education at the District 78 Country School in Lake Eunice Township. On April 20, 1929 she was united in marriage to Richard M. Rislund. In 1932 they built the Lake Center Store in rural Audubon, MN. They owned and operated the store until October of 1961. Alice later worked at Norby's Department Store in Detroit Lakes for 8 years. She moved to the Park Manor Estates in Detroit Lakes in 1989 and has been a resident at Oak Crossing since 2005. Alice was very active at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed music, singing, baking, sewing and crochet. She is survived by one son, Marly Rislund, of Audubon, MN; two daughters, Kelly Eilertson, of Audubon, MN; and Luaine (John) Warling, of Lake Park, MN; eight grandchildren, Mike (Judy) Eilertson, Shelley (David) Prentice, Cindy (Todd) Green, Denise (Tom) Taylor, Stephanie (David) Busack, Jennifer (Troy) Goering, Kristin (Marty Severson) Warling- Severson, and Tony (Salena) Warling; fifteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Rislund (1982); son, Richard L. Rislund; daughter in law, Diane Rislund; grandson, Eric Rislund; son in law, Jerain Eilertson; two brothers, Martin and Frank Pederson; two sisters, Alma Thompson and Bertha Steenerson; and her parents.
