Betty Jeanette Wischnak

Betty J. Wischnak age 74 of Detroit Lakes, MN died March 11, 2013 at the Cottages of Ecumen in Detroit Lakes. Betty Jeanette Wischnak was born on January 23, 1939 in Cormorant Township, MN to Morgan and Adeline Heimark. She spent her early years attending country school and helping on the family farm. On August 2, 1960 she was united in marriage to Daryl Wischnak. They made their home on a farm in rural Vergas, MN. Betty later moved to Detroit Lakes, living on Munson Lake, which she enjoyed very much. She worked at Snappy's in Detroit Lakes for 15 years, retiring in 2004. She later moved to Moorhead, MN for a few years before moving back to Detroit Lakes. Betty was an active member at Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir very much. She also enjoyed gardening, bingo, and spending time with friends and family. She was also known to be an excellent cook and baker. She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Peterson, of Queen Creek, AZ; Diane (Dale) Ladwig, of Frazee, MN; and Denise Bunnis, of Fargo, ND; four sons, Brian (Kathy) Wischnak, of Rock Island, IL; Bruce (Shauna) Wischnak, of Fargo, ND; Billy Wischnak, of Moorhead, MN; and Bradley (Nicole) Wischnak, of Fargo, ND; fifteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five brothers, Ardean (Loretta) Heimark, of CA; Melvin (Annette) Heimark, of Moorhead, MN; Morgan (Jennifer) Heimark, of Sabin, MN; Lawrence Heimark, of Barnesville, MN; and Harvey Heimark, of Hunter, ND; four sister, Joyce Priem, of Fergus Falls, MN; Delores Severtson, of Fargo, ND; Sandra Abrahams, of Vero Beach, FL; and Anita (Larry) Ray, of MI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harold and Roger Heimark; two sisters, Marjorie Schaeffer and Olive Heimark; two grandchildren, Tabatha Janssen and John Bunnis; and one nephew, Kip Heimark.
