June 10, 1917 — March 11, 2013

Alice Jeanette Nodsle, 95, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, formerly of Richwood, Minnesota passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living, Detroit Lakes. Alice was born on June 10, 1917 in the village of Richwood, Minnesota, the first child of Ernest and Ellen (Lidstrom) Glebe. Alice was a graduate of Detroit Lakes High School and Superior State Teachers College, leading to her teaching career that extended nearly forty years prior to her retirement in 1981. Alice was married to Alfred Nodsle in 1948 at the Evangelical Church of Callaway, Minnesota. In later years she was active in Richwood Lutheran Church, where served as choir director for a period of time. She enjoyed traveling after retiring and always had a love for music, confirmed by the beautiful piano sounds that would drift from her open windows on a summer day. She has been a resident of Detroit Lakes since 2003, when Alice moved from her home in Richwood, first to the Madison, then The Cottages and Day Spa, both of the Ecumen - Emmanuel Community and most recently Diamond Willow Assisted Living. Alice will be missed by her son, Mike (Judy) Nodsle of Detroit Lakes, MN; daughter, Aletta (Mike) Besse of Golden Valley, MN; grandchildren, Chrissy Nodsle, Ryan Schoen, Julie (Dan) Aaker, step-grandchildren, Mike Besse Jr. (Tracy), Jennifer Besse, great-grandson, James Aaker, step-great grandchildren, Tyler, Travis, Kayla, Connor and Tanner. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred (1968), brother, Lowell Glebe (2009) and sister, Leila Glass (2012). In lieu of flowers, Alice would be most honored to have memorials made to Richwood Lutheran Church in her name. The family wishes to thank the staff at Diamond Willow, Hospice and all those who cared for Alice over the past several years. God bless each of you.
