Enoch H. Bakken age 91 of Detroit Lakes, MN formerly of Audubon, MN died March 12, 2013 at Essentia Health - Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. Enoch Harvey Bakken was born on October 5, 1921 in rural Audubon, MN to Albert and Carrie Rasmussen Bakken. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school in Audubon Township. On June 16, 1949 Enoch was united in marriage to Darlene Christianson in Vermillion, SD. They made their home in rural Audubon. Enoch drove truck for the Swift Turkey Plant in Detroit Lakes for 33 years. He and Darlene moved to Detroit Lakes in 2008. Enoch enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and making jams and jellies. He was an avid duck hunter as a young man. He also enjoyed the family deer camp and telling stories about the "old days". Most of all he loved time spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Darlene, two sons, Steve (Karen) Bakken, of St. Cloud, MN; and Paul (Char) Bakken, of Detroit Lakes, MN; four daughters, Linda Somerville, of Audubon, MN; Sharlene McIlwain, of Fargo, ND; Deanna (Tim) Schons, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Lisa Small, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Joey Bakken; two great grandchildren, Reese and Hudsyn Larson; five brothers, Joe, Ben, Ardon, Silas, and Jacob Bakken; and three sisters, Myrtle Ramsey, Norma Coleman, and Ethel Newstrom.
