Irene Alice Nordgulen, 87, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Alice was born on January 12, 1926, the daughter of Adam and Bernice (McCabe) Keller in Centerville, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Centerville, graduating from Centerville High School. Alice moved to Detroit Lakes in 1953. She worked at Schiller Insurance for over thirty years. Alice was united in marriage to Arthur Nordgulen in 1973. Alice was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered at the Senior Nutrition Center. She loved bowling and was very active with the Bowling Association in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Alice is survived by her two sons, Rick (Elaine) Wood of Coon Rapids, MN; Ryan (LuAnn) Wood of Detroit Lakes, MN; five grandchildren, Deanna (Mirek) Aleksandrowicz, Carrie (Rob) Olheiser, Brian (Katie) Wood, Jacob (Sandy) Wood, Patrick (Amanda) Wood; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
