Marie Louise Mowers

Marie L. Mowers, age 60 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Monday June 10, 2013 at Essentia Health - St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. Marie Louise Mowers was born on February 2, 1953 in Park Rapids, MN to Basil and Adeline Wilmes Rowland. She grew up and attended school in Park Rapids, graduating from Park Rapids High School in 1971. On September 30, 1972 she was united in marriage to John Mowers in Detroit Lakes, MN. She attended Culinary School at the Northwest Technical College in Detroit Lakes. Marie operated a daycare at her home for 28 years. Over the years she also worked at SJ Rhombus and Wal Mart , and was currently working at Cenex in Detroit Lakes. Marie was an active volunteer in the community, who enjoyed grocery shopping for the elderly. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, and rummage sales. She is survived by two sons, Jason Mowers, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Steven Mowers, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two brothers, Raymond Rowland, of Victoria, TX; and Dale (Sandi) Rowland, of Park Rapids, MN; three sisters, Diane (Gus) Boldt, of Inez, TX; Carol Irvin, of Nisswa, MN; and Mary (David) Arvik, of Park Rapids, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John (2008); and her parents.
