Gladys R. Skogen, 101, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died July 5, 2013 at Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, Minnesota. Gladys was born on January 24, 1912, the daughter of George and Allie (Severson) Olson in rural Clay County, Minnesota. As a young child, she attended school in Cormorant until her family moved near Pelican Lake where she finished her schooling. She had a strong faith and shared it with her family. Calmer passed away in 1997 and Gladys continued to live on the farm until she entered Sunnyside Care Center in 2007. Gladys loved music. She enjoyed gardening and baking. During the winter months, she would make rugs to sell at the flea market in the summer.
